01.08.2011 – the
club for water and extreme sports “Port Lom” takes
the first place in the second round of the
Republican championship for watersports with Lom as
the host of the event. Coach Spiridon Dotchev’s
water scooterists excelled in most of the classes
and won the cup. Lom’s team won the first round of
the republican championship that took place in
Parvomai in June. Second was the team from Tutrakan,
and third was the team from Kardjali. Next were the
clubs from Ruse, Baltchik, Parvomai and two teams
from Varna and Kazanlak. The cups and medals were
given presented by the mayor of Lom, Penka Penkova,
the CEO of the Port complex, Konstantin Konstadinov,
the manager of “Miti”company Dimitar Dimitrov, and
Lyudmil Badikov the town councilor and
representative of the “Sea administration”- Lom.
The winner of the shortest race class, SA250, was
Kaloyan Chimidyalkov, second and third places went to
Nikola Stankev and Kaloyan Parvanov of the Lom
Watersports Club respectively. The champion of the
OA250 class one is Emil Georgiev of Lom, followed by
Mario Manoilov and Dimitri Jordanov. Nikola Todorov
won the JT250 class, followed by Victor Ivanov and
Stefan Ivanov. The winner of class OC500 is Nikolay
Surkov, followed by Biser Tuptukliev and Emil
Georgiev. Nicole Radukova, the sole woman in first
place, won the R1000 class, followed by Zapran Raev in
second place and Svetoslav Evtimov in third. In class
SC550, the winner is Emil Emilov, in second and third
place were Pavlin Dimitrov and Hristo Hristov. Kaloyan
Petrov won the over class OB350, followed by Blogovest
Ivanov and Stelian Stefanov. The second round of the
championship was organized by “Pristanishten
Complex-Lom” Ltd. and the Lom municipality with the
support of several sponsors. The third round is to
take place in Kazanluk in August.
27.01.2012 – Coach,
Rosen Voinov and five acrobats from the “Olimp”
sports club are part of the team representing
Bulgaria in the world championship in the USA. The
competitions will take place in April, at Lake Buena
Vista near Orlando, Florida. In the “land of
limitless opportunities“, the sports fame of Lom
will be defended by four young men: Konstantin
Arsenov, Lyuboslav Velev, Krasimir Angelov and
Ivelin Paraskevov.. Along with the athletes from
CSKA, Gorna Oryahovitsa and Targovishte. Along with
the four, Elvis Velichkov, also from the “Olimp”
sports club, will take part. The national acrobatic
team taking part in the world championship will
include 15 participants. Other than the five from
Lom, there will be representativ

Oryahovitsa, who have earned the approval of the
Bulgarian Federation of Sports and Acrobatics after
proving themselves worthy at the elimination races
conducted in the capital. “I am sincerely happy for
the success of these boys as they are proof that the
Lom sports traditions are still alive, and they are
its worthy guardians.” Said the “Olimp” coach. Rosen
Voinov who will also travel with the competitors,
expressed his hopes that the luck and pride will
follow all the citizens of Lom during the world
championship across the ocean and they will succeed
in classifying for the finals of the competition.
